The not-for-profit Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority is an educational organization that owns and operates the Lady Washington, a replica of an eighteenth-century trading ship that visited the coast of Washington State, and the Hawaiian Chieftain, a replica of a typical European merchant trader of the turn of the nineteenth century. Both vessels call primarily on west coast ports, conducting sail trainings with crews of professional sailors and volunteers. Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain also host brief cruises in waters near her ports of call. The vessels are rarely at their home port of Aberdeen, except for maintenance and repairs. However, they visit most west coast ports about once a year.
